Welcome, March

"The promise of spring's arrival is enough to get anyone through the bitter winter!"

The Spring bug has bit this week! All it seems to take is a sunny day nearing sixty degrees and boom: I'm done with winter. The geese are flying, the ice is melted, red-winged blackbirds have been spotted and my kids' spring sports schedules are out! But, of course, Pennsylvania weather doesn't work that way- a single warm day in March is usually just that. A single day. And so, though it's been almost sixty degrees, it's back into the thirties today. But that one warm day is enough to bring back the excitement for what I always claim to be my favorite season. I imagine you're all ready for spring, too? At least we're taught the skill of patience from these long winters.

Onto my favorite topic of the week: GELATO! I can't seem to stop the ideas and inspiration these days, so I'm excited to share my recent idea with you this week as butterscotch blondie gelato.  I made a white chocolate chip blondie (a brownie but without the chocolate) for my family and couldn't stop imaging a butterscotch chip. And then I envisioned it as a gelato: a cream cheese base full of butterscotch blondie and a swirl of a scratch-made butterscotch ganache. Whoa. And we brought it to life in the creamery this weekend! It's an amazing blend of flavors and texture and I think you're going to love this one.

But of course I couldn't leave out the constant demand for peanut butter, so another round of vanilla peanut butter is in the freezer at the farm shoppe for you this weekend, too!

We're getting closer and closer to our big announcement, but for now I'll leave you with this: we're taste testing waffle cones over here (wink).

Farm Shoppe Hours:

Saturday 10am until 2pm

Sunday 1pm until 3pm

And now for this week's links + finds:

  • We love Floret Flower (farmers like us, but for flowers) and they just created a new YouTube mini series all about Flower Farmers. I can't wait to watch The Beautiful Pursuit
  • If you've been around me, I'm sure you've heard me brag about my OBSESSION with my Nespresso machine. It makes the most delicious coffees, lattes, espresso and I can't get enough.
  • Our favorite little rental house right on the Clarion River is filling up fast! It's the perfect local spot: complete with kayaks, canoes, bikes and more. We've made this spot an annual tradition.
  • My favorite way to use ground beef, and dare I say it: my preferred "cheesesteak"!
  • This elephant has an uncanny resemblance to my children in the bath.

Have the best weekend!

xx,

Lisa
