Happy Valentine's Day
Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get–only with what you are expecting to give–which is everything."

Besides the candy and cards I remember giving and receiving at school, what I've always loved most about Valentine's Day is all the chocolate. From chocolate covered strawberries to chocolate hearts and chocolate cake- I love them all. Though I prefer it the darkest I can find it, I'll take chocolate in any variety. I put a poll on Instagram and Facebook this week, and you guys seem to love chocolate as much as I do. And so, for Valentine's Day, I'm so excited to make FOUR varieties of chocolate gelato!
.
We're starting with the classic chocolate: rich, creamy and loaded with real chocolate. It's smooth yet so satisfying and a perfect match with any dessert this weekend. Next up, another round of stracciatella: a vanilla gelato base filled with thin and thick pieces of chocolate. For the espresso voters, a rich chocolate gelato with real espresso and a swirl of coffee chocolate candy. It tastes like a mocha in a pint. But the biggest winner of the poll was, hands-down, chocolate with peanut butter. And since several of you wanted brownies AND peanut butter, we went for it! A chocolate gelato base filled with scratch-made brownies, peanut butter cups, chocolate drizzle and finished with a generous swirl of peanut butter. It's thick and LOADED with so much stuff: this is the gelato for the peanut butter cup fans for sure.
.
And to complete your Valentine's gift, we've got some strawberry pints in the freezer, too! It's the match of the season: fresh strawberry and chocolate.

Links + Finds from the week:
- Parker Dam is open for ice skating! (and they rent ice skates)
- I know it's not really gifting season, but if you are looking for a great gift for a kid in your life (I think ages 4-12), we have been LOVING the Tonies Box. It's an audio-reader and has popular books and characters that keep my kids listening- without screen time! Our favorites are Wild Kratts, Matilda (read by Kate Winslet) and Alex loves the Jurassic World.
- It's cold + flu season, and even if you aren't sick, don't forget the simple delight of a bowl of chicken noodle soup! I finally bought pearl couscous and I don't know why I waited so long- it's fantastic.
- I laughed so hard watching this cute video of dogs desperately trying to catch a ball.
Have the best weekend, we hope to see you at the farm shoppe (if you're willing to brave the cold)!
