Happy Summer Solstice!

We've officially made it to summer! And phew, what a welcome, huh? Here in Pennsylvania, we've hit ninety degrees at least twice this week, bringing an unseasonable but also welcome heat wave to the start of our summer. I tell the kids (and myself, really) over and over that we've been waiting all winter and spring for the hot days of summer, so we shouldn't complain! We've spent a lot of time at our local pool and icy cold creeks this week; I hope you've all found a way to beat the heat!

And speaking of beating the heat, we've fully stocked TWO new gelato flavors for this weekend's heat wave, both a perfect fit for a warm summer night. First up, our. white mint chip: it's a vanilla mint with loads of bittersweet chocolate chips and none of the artificial green color you're used to. It's a classic white made only with real vanilla and peppermint extracts and sprinkled with chocolate chips for a perfect sweet, cool treat.

We had to bring back our fresh strawberry gelato this week, too, as the local farms are bursting with vine-ripenend strawberries perfect for the churning! I'm always looking for a fresh, local ingredient to incorporate into our products, and this fresh strawberry gelato comes right from our neighbor's yard. We use purred strawberries and big chunks of ripe strawberries in our just-naturally-pink strawberry gelato for a taste of summer. Both of these new flavors will be at our farm shoppe this Saturday (and every Saturday) 10am until 2pm!
