Forty Years of Jesse.

It’s Jesse’s 40th birthday today, and we’re all enjoying celebrating him! I think it goes without saying, but Jesse is one of the good ones. I can’t help but tear up as I think of him. He’s strong yet so patient and loving, he’s adventurous yet grounded and realistic, he’s silly yet honest and reliable. Jesse is the most resourceful human I’ve met. And most intelligent. He’s always willing to consider my crazy ideas and the first to hug the one of us who needs it. He’s the reason we’re still smiling! He’s teaching us the importance of stepping outside of our comfort zones and trying new things. He’s a friend to all, and a man of God’s word. He’s an amazing, hands-on and loving father and the most supportive husband. Our lives are all immensely better because of this man. I hope each and every one of you gets the chance to know him, I know he’s got something to offer everyone he meets. Happy birthday, Jesse.

Phew, tears aside, I’m getting ready to make this man a delicious birthday cake! He’s a fruit and cream kind of guy, so it’s a whipped cream frosting and fresh fruit, for sure! This is the simple recipeI use!

We sold out of birthday cake batter the first time but a FRESH NEW BATCH is here! Just in time to celebrate Jesse’s birthday with us, we’re stocking shelves with pints of our farmstead gelato in birthday cake batter flavor this week and it will be stocked at our farm shoppe this Saturday 10am – 1pm! We also made a fresh batch of Maple sap season, so that’s ready for you to try this weekend, too!

Here are this week’s links + finds:

  • The cutest spring napkins, I’m using them to decorate bookshelves and side tables. They add the cutest touch of spring!
  • Our nephew, Zayden, is on the Brookville Raiders Boys Basketball Team, now District Champions who start the state playoff games this Saturday in Brookville! We can’t wait to cheer him on! You can watch the game online or listen on the local radio!
  • Don’t forget to spring ahead and turn your clocks ahead an hour this Sunday! It’s Daylight Savings again, but could this be the last one?! There is some 2022 legislature to end Daylight Savings — will it hold? What do you think of ending Daylight Savings?! I think I’m all for it!
  • Spring must be near– the worm moon has come and gone! The final full moon of winter is over, so the next full moon will take place in SPRING!
  • My cappuccino game is going strong thanks to this awesome milk frother. I’ve had it 2 months now, and I can say it’s fantastic. I love how quickly it heats and froths, and the stainless cup is dishwasher safe!
  • We just sent a steer to butcher, so we’re excited to offer the freshest, locally raised beef at our farm shoppe starting next week! It’s the perfect time to stock up on grilling essentials: steaks, ground beef and all-beef hot dogs arrive next week! And of course, short ribs, roasts, and soup bones will be restocked, too!
  • I’m stocking up on these sweet watercolor birthday cards. A great price but such a beautiful, special card! I love having extras on hand for celebrations! I’ve followed Emily’s studio online for years and loved her book, too!
  • Our next gelato flavor development is in the works, and we have exciting news: WE BOUGHT A GELATO MACHINE! Well, it’s a used, small version of a gelato machine, but it’s here! We can’t wait to offer more flavors and flexibility with gelato now that we’re making it completely in-house. Stay tuned, but expect some really delicious flavors coming for Easter next month! We can’t thank you all enough for your support of our farmstead gelato, it means the world to us to travel down this new path with you!

We’ll see you at the Farm Shoppe this Saturday 10am – 1pm! Enjoy these last few weeks of spring (even though we’ll be covered in snow, apparently)!
